When you use Alphavestor Sentinel, we may collect:

Account Information

• Email address (for authentication via Supabase)
• Account preferences and settings you configure

Portfolio Data (Optional)

• Google Sheets ID you provide for portfolio tracking
• Account names and types you configure
• Portfolio holdings and values read from your spreadsheet

Note: We access your Google Sheets data in read-only mode and only when you explicitly request a portfolio update. We do not modify your spreadsheets.

Usage Data

• Pages visited and features used
• Browser type and device information
• IP address (for security purposes)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Display your portfolio information and analysis
• Send you alerts and notifications you've opted into
• Improve and develop new features
• Ensure security and prevent abuse

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using:

• Supabase: For authentication and user management
• PostgreSQL: For application data
• HTTPS: All data transmitted is encrypted

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure. As a research project, we recommend not storing highly sensitive financial information in the Service.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Authentication and database hosting
• Google Sheets API: Reading your portfolio data (with your permission)
• FRED API: Economic data (no personal data shared)
• Yahoo Finance: Market data (no personal data shared)

These services have their own privacy policies that govern their use of data.

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT:

• Sell your personal information to third parties
• Share your portfolio data with other users
• Use your data for advertising or marketing by third parties
• Access your Google account beyond the specific sheets you authorize

We may share anonymized, aggregated data for research purposes (e.g., "X% of users are in defensive regime").

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

• Portfolio snapshots are retained for historical analysis
• You can delete your account to remove all personal data
• Some anonymized data may be retained for system improvement

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Cookies and Local Storage

We use:

• Authentication cookies: To keep you logged in
• Local storage: To cache data and improve performance
• Session storage: For temporary application state

We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics that follow you across the web.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
